The W. W. Edwards Collection of Hogarth Engravings

The Hogarth engravings are stored in a large mapcase in the library.  They were donated to the library by Bill Edwards of Hot Springs.  Mr. Edwards was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs.  He met Lyon College President Dan West when Dr. West preached at Westminster.

Mr. Edwards purchased this collection while on a trip to England and donated them to Lyon College.  These once were framed, but for preservation's sake are now safely ensconced away from the damaging effects of light.  These are fine prints  and prime examples of  social and moral commentary by William Hogarth (1697–1764)  There is a viewer's guide in the drawer with the prints.  And we have a DVD listed below about Hogarth.
