Before Placing A Request

For journal articles be sure you have checked Journals A-Z (Journal Finder) first, before proceeding with your request.  And for books double-check WorldCat first before proceeding with your book request.

Auto-Fill Forms For Periodicals

The easiest way to use the ILL system is to locate your articles in one of the library’s periodical databases.  Most of the database articles have a link that says:  Fill Out An ILL Form For This Article.  Once the new window pops up, the form automatically populates your ILL request form with the information needed to process your request.  All you have to do is complete the contact information and click the submit button.

Auto-Fill Forms For Books

The easiest way to use the ILL system is to locate your book in WorldCat.  If Lyon doesn’t own the book, click on the link that says:  Request Item Through Interlibrary Loan. Clicking on this link will automatically populate your ILL request form with the information needed to process your request.  All you have to do is provide contact information and click the submit button.

What If There Is No Interlibrary Loan Link?

Articles

Sometimes the databases don't have an interlibrary loan link.  At the moment JSTOR is notorious for sending patrons to external sites with no interlibrary loan order link.  Please complete this article request  FORM  for such items and submit it.  Feel free to email us questions.

Books

On extremely rare occasions, WorldCat won't have a book.  Please complete this book request  FORM  for such items and submit it.  Feel free to email us questions.
