Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Food and drink are allowed. Feel free to bring in food and drink. We just ask that you please be careful.
     
  2. Your student ID is your library card.
     
  3. There are computers you can use in the library.
     
  4. Your computer login is the same as your student email login information.
     
  5. We have DVDs to check out and streaming services for you to use.
     
  6. There are two printers that can also copy documents and scan and create PDF files that you can email to yourself.
     
  7. We have private study rooms upstairs complete with computers, Wi-Fi, and blackboards. They are first come, first serve.
     
  8. Our Lost and Found is at the front desk. If something is not there, also check in with Security, who has their own campus-wide Lost and Found, or with Student Life, over in the Ed.
     
  9. During the semester, we are open weeknights until 12 AM, Monday through Thursday.
     
  10. You can check out books and DVDs for one month.

Printing from the Ricoh Printers in the Library

This is the easiest way to print something from the printers in the library.

  1. Any file you print must be a PDF! So remember to save it as a PDF.
  2. Log into your Lyon email account on whichever device you are using.
  3. Attach the PDF to an email, and send that email to studentprints@lyon.edu.
  4. Wait a couple of seconds, for the email to be sent to the printers.
  5. Go to either of the printers and login using your six-digit Lyon ID number.
  6. Now that you're logged in, you should see a pending print job. Click that pending print job, then click print.

There are two printers for student use. One is to the right of the main entrance, next to the vending machine. The other is one floor up and through the doorway to the left of the bound editions of the Batesville Guard, the giant blue books.

How Do I Login?

When off-campus, if you are a Lyon College student, faculty, or staff member, you can use your Lyon user ID (first.last@lyon.edu) and your password to login when an authentication screen pops up during your use of a library database or other online service. You only have to do this once a session.

Community members who have purchased a card can use the databases in the library building but not remotely.

Having issues logging in?  Clear your cache (CTRL + SHIFT + DEL) and try again.
