Children's Literature: Picture Books

This LibGuide pinpoints sources for students studying children's literature.

What is a Picture book?

Picture books are a type of illustrated book, a classification for any book with even a single illustration (Bird and Yokota, 2017).  A picture book can take many forms.  It can be a wordless book, which tells a story solely through illustrations.  it can be a picture storybook, in which a story is told through a combination of illustrations and text, each amplifying the other to create a unified whole.  This page shows a sample of what is housed at the library.
