About Dr. Larry Jernigan

Dr. Jernigan was a 1965 graduate of Arkansas College and contributed to Lyon College's homecoming in 2010 by exhibiting 24 works and presenting a program on nature photography at The Mabee-Simpson Library.   Two of the photos he gave to us are titled "Owl" and "Hawk Feeding Her Young."   They are displayed on the second floor.

Dr. Larry Franklin Jernigan of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away November 22, 2020. He was born in Bells, Tennessee and was a member of Sugarloaf Baptist Church in Heber Springs and a U.S. Army Veteran serving at Walter Reed Hospital doing research work.

Jernigan was a Doctor of Chiropractic and owned his own practice in Pine Bluff. He retired to Heber Springs and worked with the Cleburne County Extension Service as the 4-H Program Assistant. Larry loved the outdoors, bird watching and camping. He was a professional photographer and loved to take pictures of God’s work. He loved teaching and investing in kids, and he loved people in general. He would never turn anyone down if they needed his chiropractic service or any other kind of help.
